Herbert W. Franke’s Early Critics: “This Can’t Be Art!”

– Writer and researcher Steve Taylor, recounting the rejection Austrian computer art pioneer Herbert W. Franke experienced (here, by the Ulm School of Design co-founder Otl Aicher) in the early 1950s. At the time, Franke experimented with oscilloscope forms generated via a DIY analog computer.
