A chronology of 3,585 references across art, science, technology, and culture
“Good immersion lives in the space between, a double exposure of both the fictional world and the actual world at once. Early games understood this. You stared at a CRT screen with blocky pixels and somehow you were still in the dungeon.”
Montréal’s RGBMTL returns for its annual mass celebration of digital art. Now in its fourth year, the two-night NFT community exhibition features works by 180 international artists, selected by 24 peers including Ailadi, Lorna Mills, Nicolas Sassoon, and Xer0x. Each piece is exhibited for 1 minute as multi-channel installations (wall projections, CRT monitors, LED panels), reflecting on the works’ “initial context of diffusion” across the blockchain, social media, and the wider Web.
