Andrew Benson, lamenting the lack of NFT preservation practices after
ClubNFT, a popular IPFS-pinning service, announced it’s shutting down. The
InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) is a decentralized network for storing and sharing files that can retain data via pinning. Unpinned NFT media—images, videos—will inevitably be lost, defeating the medium’s core promise: true ownership of digital assets.
