A performance and installation, Micha Hamel and Jonas Staal’s Earth Workers Requiem/Jubilate (2024) opens at Het Noordbrabants Museum in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (NL). Composer Hamel presents a six-hour electronic score with live instrumentation and vocals alongside artist-activist Staal’s (motor oil and ammonite fossil) pyramids. Both mournful and optimistic, the collaboration sounds “a rallying cry for earth workers of all times to unite in the struggle for a regenerated biosphere.”
