Signalling the LACMA launch of Auto (2025), Lauren Lee McCarthy’s interactive performance series in service of democratizing the driverless future, the LA-based software artist teamed up with Casey Reas to spark conversations in LACMA’s North Piazza. Auto Tune (2025) is a public intervention by hacked LED message trailer that, sardonically, prompts people to surrender to automation: “HEY YOU, GET FREE, LOSE CONTROL, AUTO TUNE.”
