The Register: MIT takes down Tiny Images dataset

After a paper reveals offensive content and labeling, MIT permanently pulls its 80 Million Tiny Images dataset. Scraped from the Internet in 2006, the popular image database is used to train AI systems to identify people and objects in an environment. “It is clear that we should have manually screened [the images],” MIT’s Antonio Torralba told The Register. “For this, we sincerely apologize.”
